Standards that grow with you
Every Braid Artist agrees to follow California health and safety standards, licensed or not. As client feedback comes in we raise our standards and add new certifications, and you'll hear it from us first, with the training to match. Starter courses are free for everyone, and most certifications are included with Pro.
Questions
Is it really free to be listed?
Yes. Once our team approves your profile you're live in the directory, on the ballot and able to get reviews, with no card needed. Pro is an optional upgrade.
Do I need a license to be listed?
No. Licensed pros get a Licensed badge after we verify it. Everyone agrees to follow California health and safety standards, and certifications show on your profile.
Do clients pay through BraidingFest?
No. Clients book with you through your own booking link. We tag it so you can see which bookings came from BraidingFest.
How do reviews work?
Clients with verified bookings can review without an invite. Pro members also get a review request link to send their own clients. Reviews follow our quality standards.
Can I host events?
Hosting is a Pro feature. Licensed pros and salon owners can host right away. Unlicensed members can host once they complete every certification on the site and stay current as new ones are added.
How does Pro's free month work?
Your card is saved at checkout and you're charged $8.99 after 30 days. Cancel before then and you won't be charged. Your profile stays live on the Free plan either way.
